How my life has changed

This whole thing started back in 2006 when Roy and me visited Tokyo for holiday..

Japanese people are very shy...The girls are actually very reluctant to take photos with me :P

It's hard not to be infected with Japanese culture.

Some of the very obvious culture that I've noticed during my visit.

1. A lot of people are on masks.

In 2006, H1N1 is unheard of. So why people are wearing them?? It took us many years later to find out that Japanese wear masks so that they do not infect others with flu. So nice geh.... I feel so ashamed as I was sneezing and coughing like nobody's business back then, inside the train summore =(

2. Everyone has phone strap (s). 

I mean EVERYONE, even ah sums, 90-years-old grannies, atuks and kids.

I have seen one girl in the train who. has. like. HUNDREDS. of them on her phone.

3. Kawaii-ness 

Cute elements can be found almost everywhere in Japan, from big business to corner markets and national government, ward, and town offices.

1. I squealed in delight whenever I see Hello Kitty products.

2. I  ♥ everything that is pink - Just started my Pink Cottage FB page

3. I had start reading HK websites/blogs such as:

• Hello Kitty Hell - One Man’s Life With Cute Overload. 

          This is a funny one cause it's literally a HK hate-site done by a man who has a HK fanatic wife.
          It blogs about the weirdest HK stuff that you could never imagined. Ready?

How to host a Fab Party

It's not that I am an expert in hosting but here's my 2cents :)
Identify your guests into the following guest categories so that you will know how to plan your party and what to expect.

1. Your buddies: comes early to help and go off last with the washing.
2. The divas:
How to recognise them:

• comes late
• goes back early
• doesn't RSVP, or if they do, be prepared that they will FFK
• divas expect you to serve them like you are their maid

How to deal: If you have no choice but to invite them (or your friend go and pandai2 have them invited without your knowledge), live with it and be a gracious host. It's not worth to spoil your mood

3. The demanding:
Even when you are working your ass off to plan and prepare and funding the party, it's not uncommon that they will expect 5-star service from you.

How to recognise them:

• Ha? Why no oyster, sushis, lamb, wine, marshmallow etc etc etc etc geh...

How to deal:
1. Do not ask for their opinions or suggestions.
2. Swallow everything that they have to say and take a very very very deep breath.
3. Do not take them for shopping unless you want to burn a hole in your pocket and increase your blood pressure
4. Ask them to buy/sponsor whatever they want to eat.

Rojak's Party Hosting Principles:
1. DO NOT be a cranky host even though you are sick, tired, ffk-ed, offended, and shorthanded (which I have failed, miserably)

This is me at 4pm before the party - was KO-ed due to bad flu, very cranky and still yet to start preparing. I need a nap to recharge myself. Pepper Love came and thought I was on drip..hehe.. (see the iPhone cable?)

Rojak's Tips:
1. Do not assume that you will get help from your friends. 
2. Do not assume that your guests and even your appointed helpers will come early or on time.
3. Do not trust the men to do the shopping.

I love Bali Guling!
But my favourite suckling pork is still those at Elcerdo, Changkat Bukit Bintang. Angel K, I pity u, u don't know what you are missing by giving up pork :P


After a sumptuous Bali Guling, we visited Puri Saren Agung (Water Palace).


[ Wikitravel Puri Saren Agung (Royal Palace, Water Palace), (across Jl Raya Ubud from Ubud Market). 9AM-5PM daily. This was the palace of the kings of Ubud until the 1940s, and some royal descendants live there to this day.]

After Ubud, we took about an hour ride to our next hotel, Alam Asmara @ Candidasa

Candidasa if a bit off from the busy Kuta and Ubud.  
The only reason that we are shifting to Candidasa is because it is nearer to our dive sites at Tulamben and Nusa Penida. See Bali map here. Otherwise, we will be traveling 2 hours to and fro to our diving spots everyday.

Not bad but I beh tahan the sesame rice. It's like eating rice pulp


Pepes ikan [RP40,000 = RM14]
I find that all the restaurants in Bali serves very small serving of rice. Rice very expensive here meh?


This is our complimentary cake, so sweet of the hotel. :)
It's a damn good chocolate cake, we ate half and finish the other half the following day! LOL..

The Pros:
You'll get to wake up when you want to
You don't have any deadlines
You don't have to report to anyone, ie. you are your own boss!
You don't have to entertain clients who talks only but no action
No technical issues
No office politics

The Cons:
Be prepare to starve your cat and yourself if you don't get any sale
You'll get a natural tan
You can wear fancy clothes like this: .....
