My Travel Tips and Travel Map

I shall be going to Bali for diving, excited!!!
It's the manta ray season now and sunfish season is starting next month. So, I might have a high chance to spot Mr. Manta and there still some hope to spot Mr. Sunfish.  :)))

Manta ray

Sunfish also known as Mola-mola

As a sucker for travelling, here is my TOP 3 personal travel tips for anyone who want to plan their trips.

1. To check airasia lowest rate,go to http://www.skyscanner.com.my/, which will show you the lowest rate and date for every month of the year. This will save u the pain to search through 365 days of the year.

2. To check the lowest hotel rate, go to hotelscombined.com, this save you the hassle of going thru 1000+ hotel booking sites to get the cheapest rate.

3. Of course, to find a value-for-money and good hotel to stay in, do check out the forums on tripadvisor.com for the guests' comments. Do not simply trust the fancy hotel's site as you might be fooled. It's also pretty easy to decide which hotel that you wanna stay as tripadvisor rank hotels based on the guests reviews and rating. You can also see the photos taken by the guests as photos on the hotel/booking sites are normally taken at their best (so you won't see the ugly or mediocre part of the hotel)

4. Last but not least, to find out all you need to know about your travel destination, go to wikitravel.com
You will find info such as what to do, how to access, food to eat, what to buy, etc.

Well, I think these tips should quite useful ya? Care to share if you have any travel planning tips?

Here's my travel map for the places that I have been to:

Pork leg noodle @ Leong Wei coffeeshop

My breakfast for today! *Love*

Woodz Cafe, Kuchai Entrepreneurs' Park

I don't think anyone has blogged about Woodz Cafe other than a brief mention in Dynastygarden blog so here's my post. It's like my canteen here as my mom and I eat here almost every other day. The unique thing about Woodz is their menu is almost as thick as a dictionary with more than 300 dishes (I think). They served a variety of reasonably priced food from Thai, Japanese, Korean, Myanmar, Indonesia, Singapore, China to Malaysian food. Though not everything tasted awesome but there are some good ones such as
seafood udon, tomyam soup, ma-lat fried rice, woodz salad, and herbal soup to name a few.

Try to go during lunch hour as their set lunch is mad cheap from RM3.50! You'll be surprised that for RM3.50 you get pretty decent chicken herbal soup with rice.

They have cheap beer too! 3 buckets of Carlsberg (4+1) for RM90.93+

It's a two-storey cafe with floor-seating upstairs

Sakae sushi, 1U

, originally uploaded by ellecll.

We were at 1U today to service Roy's regulator. I was starving by the time we are done at the dive shop. I am always craving for Sushi King as they have really fresh sushis. As we couldn't find sushi king and both my leg and stomach is aching, we walked in to Sakae Sushi. It was a total disappointment as the food is extremely lousy!

@Sakae
Obviously unhappy with her food

Roy was chomping away as usual as he has no tastebud

We ordered Ikura Chawanmushi (salmon roe) and what's served was quite different from the menu. Spot the difference?

Photo in the menu

Actual food

The salmon roe doesn't taste fresh and it doesn't have the explode-in-your-mouth feeling of those big fat juicy roe. :(

I am banning Sakae from now on.

Wing Chun

Recorded this during my Aikido class today. Jon was having his Wing Chun class at the same time as ours.

This is Jon's sticky hand:

Speaking of Wing Chun, I am so in love with IP Man 2. Donnie Yen rawks!! Can't wait to watch it the 2nd time in cinema. :)

Banana

Guess what's this for?
Saw it at a boutique in Vietnam and I was so happy to find this thing here.

Calorie Restaurant, Sri Petaling

This place is always crowded whenever I passed by and I heard that their pumpkin rice is good, so here we are on a Friday night.

Cheese chicken chop with pumpkin
Cheese chicken chop with pumpkin (RM14.90)

This is supposed to be porkchop but I have requested for chicken chop cause we are already having the pork rib.

Pork rib with black egg rice

We ordered the pork rib set meal (RM10.90) and it comes with either a free lemon seacoconut or rice ball or lemon longan. The sauce is really good but the rib is not that crisp, maybe we took too long to take the photos before noming on it. :P
HK milk tea & lemon sea coconut
Their Hong Kong milk tea is quite good

They were featured in The Star Sunday Metro. It is interesting to know that the owner is a former car sales man who has decided to venture into food business.

Tsubaba Polka Dot Red Nail

I recreated this nail design after seeing Cheesie's blog.

The basic tools - red & white nail polish, dotter

I find that this RM5 red nail polish has surprising good colour and quality. Top clear coat works wonder to achieve the glossy look.

I am using acrylic color to draw the black ribbon but I think drawing it with a marker pen is just the same.

For the embossed heart, I am using monomer and HD powder. It's professional stuff and is crazy expensive. Your manicurist will probably charge you around RM5-RM7 for this little thing.
