Paper pot shabu-shabu! It's really amusing that the paper won't get burn or leak

Huge strawberries and it's super duper sweet.
The freshness and sweetness is incomparable even with those imported strawberries that we get here.

To rest our legs after so much of walking, we love to stop by at the coffee shops.

Urchins and it's fresh!
I've tried not-so-fresh urchins and it really taste really horrible. My dream is to eat urchin straight from its shell after catching it from the sea. =)

Japanese School Girl Group
And I thought Korea's Girls Generation has too many members. I think the skirt pulling action is kinda funny.

Most people are wearing either black or brown, is this a winter fashion?

1 Day Trip to Teluk Intan (Diamond Bay)

The reason that we made this trip was because Teluk Intan was both my mom & hubby's hometown but we haven't been back for years.

The drive to Teluk Intan is about 2.5-3 hours from Kuala Lumpur.

Our first stop is at the Jalan Maharani's hawker stalls.

Nasi kunyit with char siew. Nice but the char siew is a too fatty.

IMG_1663
a typical Teluk Intan's chili sauce. It's more watery that the ones in KL

IMG_1650
Soy milk stall @ Jalan Maharani
This is supposed to be famous but I found it pretty average.

IMG_1660
Local fruits @ Jalan Maharani
Local fruits are really cheap here. It's about half of the price that we pay in KL.

Coffee @ a random coffee shop
My mom says Teluk Intan's coffee is the best. It's thick and has a strong aroma, but it's too sweet for my taste. From my experience, most of the small town's drinks are usually too sweet.

This coffeeshop sells pastries too.

Rojak Ah Chai
The prawn crackers was super crunchy and there are a lot of fruits in this rojak.
I would prefer the Penang's rojak over this cause I prefer the sauce with lots of prawn paste.

Do shop for Teluk Intan's heong pneah

We spent a whole day at Teluk Intan and it's really nothing much to do here so went to Rapid Mall which is the largest mall in Teluk Intan. At Rapid Mall, we shopped at Giant, had foot massage, chill at Sushi King, then Mcdonalds.
